Abudu Kurabaso Seidu a.k.a RasKrizz the Redfyah was born on August 27th 1975 about 3:30pm in the Northern part of Ghana. He is the last of two siblings. At the tender age of one, his father, the then Paramount Chief of Gonja Kingdom passed away. As a result of that he grew up together with his brother in the hands of a single parent and his story unfolds.
Never forgetting the importance of education, he started his primary education at Bole Roman Catholic School. At that tender age Redfyah started writing numbers and letters, drawing simple pictures to tell stories. Redfyah having completed the early stage of life where he had acquired basic writing skills, he continued at St. Kizito’s J.H.S. While in school, he had passion and zeal for art so he never wasted his time on unnecessary things when there was no teacher. He used the time judiciously to draw things in the environment to explain some basic concepts in various subjects. His teacher found out that he had an inbuilt artistic skill. Coincidentally, his elder brother was an outstanding artist. He contributed a lot to make him develop his talent by encouraging him and providing him basic art accoutrements judging from his aptness and deftly handiwork. He admired nature, he also had a dream to become a professional artist. He has no shred or modicum of regret for choosing this career in that he sees it as a right direction to develop his innate and in born skill.
Currently, he owns a big art studio in Techiman, BrongAhafo Region of Ghana. Redfyah has always emphasized that, his decision to choose art as a career is one of the successful steps he has taken in life.
As a result, he developed passion for Rastafarianism. He heightened and accentuated the fever with much audience to reggae songs from Bob Marley, Burning Spear, Peter Tosh, BujuBanton, Luciano, Culture and other popular Rastafarians. He performed popular songs like One Love, Addis Ababa, Destiny and One Stone to arouse his fans’ enthusiasm during school’s entertainment programmes. Redfyah’s passion for reggae can’t be explained by words. It has become his soul’s food. Gradually reggae became a favorite music genre on campus as one of the “popular” guys on campus has tried to erase some of the negative perceptions held by society.
